Nerpio se encuentra situado en el extremo sur de la provincia de Albacete, sureste de España. Las capitales más cercanas son Murcia y Albacete, se encuentran a hora y media y dos horas respectivamente de camino en coche.

Nerpio is located in the southern corner of Albacete Province, in south-east Spain.The closest main town is Murcia, which is one hour and a half by car.

Nerpio es un pequeño pueblo de montaña integrado en la Sierra del Segura. El 75 % del término municipal está incluido dentro de la Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves (ZEPA) Sierras de Alcaraz y Segura y Cañones del Segura y el Mundo. En su término se encuentra la Reserva Natural Sierra de las Cabras.
Nerpio is a small mountain town located in the “Sierra del Segura” mountain range. Seventy-five per cent of the municipality is integrated in the Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) “Sierras de Alcaraz y Segura y Cañones del Segura y el Mundo”. “Sierra de las Cabras” Nature Reserve is located in the municipality.

El Quebrantahuesos (Gypaetus barbatus) es una especie reintroducida recientemente en la zona. En la actualidad se han liberado ya 14 ejemplares en la vecina Sierra de Cazorla (Jaén).
The Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus barbatus) has been recently reintroduced in the area. To date, 14 of them have been released in to the nearby “Sierra de Cazorla” (Jaén-Andalucía).

Aparte de las especies típicas de las montañas mediterráneas, también se pueden observar especies típicas de zonas más norteñas.
